From being part of a company to being your own company.

Not a department, but on our own!

As of January 1st, I started in a new job. Actually, not a completely new one. A big part of the work I was doing until then has remained the same, but there are clear differences as well. I still work as a project manager for the studies we perform for pharmaceutical companies, yet my employer has a new name: theTIMcompany. I still have all of the colleagues that I had before, yet the new company has already grown by at least 4 new colleagues, as of today we are a company of 18 employees, and we plan on hiring even more new colleagues in the next months.

So, what has happened?

Over the course of the last year the potential of the TIM technology has been investigated by an external advisory company. Their main conclusion was that the potential of the TIM technology could be exploited more efficiently by transferring the technology to a separate entity: enter The TIM Company. My experience so far has been that by building a separate company around our specific technology, things are going a at a faster pace than before. However, it also required us to
re-think all of the givens that we took for granted: I certainly did not anticipate that I would be involved in shaping the ERP-software to our specific workflows, or many other (smaller) tasks that come with starting-up a completely new company. No IT-department to ask about software licenses, no office manager to ask about status of a payment, it is simply up to yourself to take action while making sure that all TIM studies are moving forward and that our customers are getting the same quality as before. Looking back, I think we can say that over the past 6 months, The TIM Company has now clearly left port and we are steadily gaining momentum: all of our customers know where to find us (at least you do 😉) and we are now increasing our efforts to find for our next customers. With the launch of this new website, we are showing the world what we aim to do: through our technology we contribute to the development of tomorrow’s drugs and foods, either by performing TIM Studies for our customers or by selling the TIM Systems and training our customer’s own TIM operators. Aiming to get the best results for our customers.
